Bio
Katie Lewis is an experienced, award-winning reporter and writer. She spent her youth on Vancouver Island, the daughter of a librarian and geophysicist, devouring books until she decided to attend Carleton University's School of Journalism. There, her interests broadened to include photography and radio.
One of the more pivotal moments of her life was packing her life into two bags at age 17 and spending a year in Germany as a Rotary Youth Exchange Student. It was there she developed a love for pretzels that will never, ever be broken.
After graduation from university, she spent time working as a reporter in Uganda. She has experience working in conflict zones (Northern Uganda, Colombia, Sudan, DRC).
She speaks German, intermediate French, and minimal levels of Swahili, Inuktitut and Luganda.
She loves avocados, beagles, East Africa and the beach.
